I like the point, there is so much bad content out there. This is partly due to people who need to continuously post content and also people who think that everyone wants to hear everything they have to say. These people might have some gems occasionally but they think that people also want to hear their trash.

Well this actually fits with the psychology of our culture, nowadays we are all about more, more more, we want more stuff more traffic more of the “good stuff” without really looking at the quality of it.

Great insight David! When I first started my blog, I posted multiple times a day for several months – but began to dread writing. I then cut back to posting on MWF and saw a sharp drop in readership, but I didn’t care.

Then 11 months ago I relaunched my blog and re-committed to posting on a daily basis (M-F) and haven’t looked back. Since then I’ve seen steady traffic improvements and comments. Not that it means anything, but my Alexa traffic ranking has improved from 27M+ to about 890K.

I’ve got a long way to go to break 100K, but I’m committed to getting there. Thanks!

You make several good points. I agree that quality over quantity wins every time. When I started my blog, I published every day. Lately I publish 2-3 times per week and my traffic is up. I’m focusing more on quality than quantity and it’s making a different.
