LinkedIn for SEO
In addition to being a great website for networking and reputation management, LinkedIn can also serve as a valuable SEO asset. Your profile allows 3 links to your websites. Use them. A few tips for making your profile rank better within LinkedIn, and most likely with external search engines, too.
- Complete your profile to 100%
- Join some groups
- Build a large contact list
- Recommend your contacts
- Ask your friends to recommend you
- When commenting on blogs, make your LinkedIn profile sometimes the URL for your comment
This is also a great way to create a very credible page that will rank well for your name, including great positive recommendations in your favor. See more about this in my post on SEO tactics for reputation management.

That’ a great idea. I just recently signed up for LinkedIn, but haven’t done anything with it yet. I think I’ll try to finish up my profile and see how well it can be used to help my existing stuff.

A few of my friends said that the LinkedIn did help in the SEO matters, and they also have recommended me to join the LinkedIn big family as soon as possible.
After I have read your artilce, I think I should join it right away…!

I still have a lot of seo costumers without using linkedin. Maybe I’ll create an account when I’ll run out of costumers

I think LinkedIn is more to reputation optimization - especially you’re offering online services. Can’t imagine the impact on SEO as I see the link has little or nearly no link juice at all.
